Electropop for your sad little soul

Hi. How are ya doing? I had written out a really long, very revealing, and extremely raw entry for these songs and then I deleted it all because no one wants to hear about the inner workings of my mind unless it's hilarious af. Or if it makes you feel good about your own existence.

Or, in this case, your taste in music.

But here I present you a series of tracks that maybe aren't shit? Oh who are we kidding, really? If I like them, you know that they're probably pretty bad and basic.

But enough idle chitchat! ONWARDS!

OK, so the first one is On Hold by The xx. It's like the soundtrack to your sad breakup, but without the catharsis. Like you're sitting there thinking, "yeah, this kinda sucks, but I guess it was bound to happen idk?"

Why is this here, you might ask? Because it's a breakup song for people who aren't able to feel, and there aren't enough songs like that around. Also it feels deep and meaningful to me in a way that I won't explain because you don't deserve to see my soul. NEXT!

The flip side of On Hold is Loud Places, which is like every feeling you ever had about every breakup you ever. It's a melancholy mass of wondering what the person you used to be doing is doing, and why you're doing what you're doing right now since you are NOT having fun.

It's that feeling of being out with some random friends after a breakup and wondering if having drinks on this shitty terrasse on Prince-Arthur street with these randos is really making you feel any better especially since you're pretty sure your ex is having a great time with his new boyfriend!

Ahem

Anyways, it' a beautiful tune that makes me sad prettymuch every time I hear it.

NEXT!

I have no idea why I always associate SHY by The Magician with those other two tunes, but here we are. I'm not even sure what SHY is about; it just seems to fit on some weird synesthetic level. But SHY is, I think, about the start of a relationship? Or about wanting to start a relationship? But does it matter, really? I like it and I juxtapose it with these other two songs on any playlist I make.

That's it for now. For more hilarious non-disclosures of the inner workings of my soul, tune in tomorrow for more half-assed entries about music you don't like!
